Playwright, painter and stage designer John Byrne put Paisley on the cultural map with Tutti Frutti, The Slab Boys and a body of visual art that still hangs in galleries across Scotland.
His star is set outside Paisley Library on the High Street — his own choice, made before he passed away, in recognition of a lifelong love of books and stories.
Paisley's Buddie Walk of Fame is a pavement trail of engraved stones — Hollywood Boulevard-style — honouring ten sons and daughters of the town as voted for by the people of Paisley. Free to visit, on public streets, day or night.
